Obituary of Charles C. Cantwil

Charles Clifford Cantwil or to those who knew him well Chuck passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023.

Chuck was born to Charles and Mayoma Cantwil in St. Claires Shores, MI on December 6, 1936. He went on to join the United States Air Force Reserves. He later held a fulfilling career with Ford Motor Co as an electrician that spanned 36 years. In 2019, Chuck and his wife Ruth relocated to Florida from Caseville, MI. He was an adventurous man who loved a wide range of activities such as: scuba diving, fishing, boating, parasailing, golf and bicycling. Chuck was also known to those who were closest to him as a handy man who could fix anything.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Ruth A Wilcox-Cantwil, daughter Deborah Cantwil-Radlick, son Dr. James (Elisa) Cantwil, stepson Robert (Susan) Jackson, stepdaughter Cheryl (Michael) Kilano. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mayoma Cantwil, his first wife Josephine (Delia) Cantwil, his sister Beverly Ahrens and brother-in-law Floyd Ahrens, and multiple cousins, aunts, uncles and two nephews.

Charles will be laid to rest in Michigan at a later date.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Chuck’s honor to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
