Obituary of Teresa Tulkis

Teresa Tulkis, 73, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on December 31, 2022, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Teresa was born on September 15,1949 to Wladyslawa and  Edward  Strankowski in Kudrawka, Poland. After graduating from High School in Nowy Dwor, she went on to study Economics in Bialystok and graduated with BS degree in 1971. After graduation, she held many jobs in Business Administration and HR fields. In 1972, she met Jan Tulkis, and they were married August 12,1972, going on to have 2 children, Peter (49) and Paul (38).

Teresa was a fantastic wife and wonderful mother. She excelled at propping up members of her family and friends and supporting them through the difficulties of their lives. Whether that was helping them with their professional careers or supporting them through tough times, she made it her mission to improve the lives of those around her. Teresa was a passionate reader and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her library reading her beloved novels.  In 1992 Teresa and her entire family moved to United States. She resided in NJ, NY and for the last 7 years of her life, in Port Charlotte, FL.  During her retirement in Florida, she made many new friends, who were the new joy in her life. She spent most of her time socializing, enjoying the warm weather and being the best wife, mother and friend. We will miss her greatly.

Teresa was predeceased by her parents Edward & Wladyslawa and brother Joseph. She is survived by her husband Jan, children Peter and Paul, grandchildren Brandon & Jordan and her sister Honorata. 

A viewing will be held at Farley Funeral Home in North Port from 11:30AM-12:30PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held right after at San Pedro Catholic Church starting at 1:00PM, then Teresa will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Gardens at 2:30PM.
