Obituary of Patricia Woodrow

Patricia (Trish) Woodrow, age 76, of Nokomis, FL, passed away on 11/8/2022.  She was born in Detroit, MI to John and Connie Sullivan on January 3, 1946. Trish was a resident and teacher in Traverse City, MI before moving to Florida. She was an active member of many local groups such as book clubs, mahjong, BOP and the local chapter of PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) dedicated to supporting women’s education. 

Surviving family members include her husband of 54 wonderful years, Steven; son Nicholas and his children Audrey and Colin Woodrow; daughter Kelli Woodrow, her husband Patrick van den Broek and their children Kees and Anya van den Broek; brothers-in-law William Woodrow and John Messingschlager and sister-in-law Barbara Woodrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Connie Sullivan, brother and sister-in-law Denny and Sally Sullivan, nephew, Scott Sullivan; sister, Mary Messingschlager and nephew, Ken Messignschlager. 

Trish was not a famous news or sports personality, as is the case with most of us and our dear friends, but she was, indeed, an important person.  It was not just her beautiful blue eyes or her ever present smile and laugh, it was her total interest and devotion to her family, her friends and her teaching profession.  One could not find a person more loyal and attached to these priorities.  She was also such an excellent decorator, who could distinguish the smallest variations of color.  Many friends called on her for her advice in these areas.  Trish was my loyal best friend for many years, through thick and thin, as they say, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends will celebrate their amazing mother, wife, and sister June 25, 2023 from 2-4pm at Cathedral Barn in Traverse City, MI.
