Chiara was a very special person and friend. Carol and I will always remember her sweet smile and spirited enthusiasm.
She and Greg were our neighbors on Gardenia when we lived in Venice and she was my patient for many years. She was always on the move and had such tremendous energy. We were aware of the work she quietly did at Epiphany Cathedral and saw the downstairs room where she did her amazing creations. The last couple of years as Chiara’s health declined, she and Greg displayed such love and grace in the midst of major transition. Their love for each other was stronger than any pandemic or separation could cause. Even after losing most of her independence and skills she retained her charm and humor through it all. The picture below captures Chiara’s infectious zest for living. I’m just sorry that we didn’t have more time together. That seems to be the current narrative in all our lives and relations. Thanks for the memories and the times that we shared together Chiara and Greg!
