Obituary of Marilyn Frances Szabo

Marilyn Frances (Harvey) Szabo, age 80, of Venice, Florida, passed away on July 12, 2022.  She was born in Flint, Michigan on March 3, 1942.  Marilyn moved to Venice in 2014 from St. Charles, Illinois. She worked at Delnor Community Hospital as a Medical Technologist and was the Director of Laboratory Services for 20 years and retired in 2008.  Marilyn was a member of the Waterford HOA and Landscape Committee co-chairperson, water aerobics co leader, sewing and embroidery enthusiast and avid cat lover.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Peter A. Szabo, Jr. of Venice, Florida, a son, Christopher Szabo of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan and a daughter, Laura Szabo of Somonauk, Illinois.  Marilyn also leaves behind five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Mildred Harvey.

A Visitation will be held at Farley Funeral Home and Crematory in Venice, FL on July 21, 2022 from 2pm to 4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held July 22, 2022 at Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church at 10am. Following the mass there will be a Graveside service at Venice Memorial Gardens.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.  Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.  A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
