Obituary of Nancy Pam Kiggans

Pam Kiggans, age 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Hospice in Venice, FL.  Pam was born Nancy Pamela Lewis on February 26th, 1943, in Charleston, WV to her parents Allen J Lewis and Dorothy Knighton Lewis.  Pam married the love of her life, Douglas M Kiggans I on May 25, 1963, in Williamstown, WV, one day after she graduated from Williamstown High School.  Pam was incredibly kind and loving; she knew no strangers. She worked at The Oaks Club in Osprey FL where she very much enjoyed taking care of “her ladies.”  She was an avid reader, loved to play bingo, and make mincemeat cakes and cookies at Christmastime. Pam is survived by her three children Missy Kiggans (Glenn Rickard) of Williamston, WV, Douglas M Kiggans II (Heather Davis) of Sarasota, FL, and Heidi Kiggans (John Scolaro) of Venice, FL.  She was so happy and honored when they collectively gave her eight grandchildren Colin Kiggans, Nina and Gina Scolaro, and Emma, Gregory, Caden, Alexis, and Makenzie Rickard and three great-grandchildren Liam Barnett, Karsyn Kiggans, and Brynlee Kiggans.  She loved to tell them all that she loved them “a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck”.  She is also survived by many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her dog Miley, all of whom she loved dearly. Other than her husband, Pam was preceded in death by her brothers Earl and Juddson D Lewis Sr, her grandson, Cody Rickard, and her half-siblings.

A memorial mass will be at Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church on May 10, 2022, at 11:00AM. Pam wasn’t formal, so you don’t need to dress up too much, but she did like it “when people looked nice”.  Also, no gum chewing. Pam really hated that! Pam will be interred with her late husband on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 10:00AM at Sarasota National Cemetery.  In place of flowers, please send donations in Pam’s name to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.
