Obituary of Phyllis Rose Speed

Phyllis Rose Speed, age 86, passed at home with hospice care in Knoxville, TN with her loving daughter and son-in-law by her side on April 29, 2022. 

Phyllis had a love of orchids and spent many hours enjoying and caring for her passion. She worked for 35 years as a cashier and Asst Produce Manager at Winn Dixie. The last years of her life were spent in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, which was a dream of her and her husband. 

She is survived by her daughter, Bambi Kay (Clifton L.) Colyar; granddaughter, Davonne (Eric) Duenas; a grandson, Matthew (Cheyenne) Wagle and three great-grandchildren, Donavon, Leland and Luna.  Phyllis also leaves behind a niece, Lisa Chiaramonte.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Speed and her son, James Alan Speed.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice. Burial will be private at Venice Memorial Gardens. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.  A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
