Obituary of Barbara VanBiervliet

Following a full life filled with family, business, sports, and crafts, Barbara Van Biervliet of Venice FL, formerly of Detroit MI, died peacefully on April 24, 2022 at the age of 92. Barbara was born to William and Virginia Gilmore on October 2, 1929. Barbara was the wife of George VanBiervliet for 67 years. Barbara leaves her four children Sandra Sandusky, Alan Van Biervliet, Ron Van Biervliet, and Gary Van Biervliet. Her grandchildren Chris, Jason, Marisol, James, Lindsey, Taylor and Matt, and her great grandchildren Joe and Sydney. She was an active partner with George in successful business ventures including Van & Son Collision, Detroit Mi, and Northbrook Golf Course, Ray Township, MI. Barbara played golf and tennis was skilled in many crafts from embroidery to jewelry making. Many of the things she made will become family heirlooms. She was an avid animal lover (all animals from lizards in the lanai to sand cranes on the golf course) but she was fondest of dogs and cats.
