Obituary of Arlene Hyde

Arlene Hyde, age 81, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at ShorePoint Health in Venice, Florida.

Arlene grew up and lived in the Rochester, New York area and greatly enjoyed spending time at her cottage on Sodus Bay and her home in Nokomis Florida.   She was an avid reader, dedicated swimmer and walker, and consummate party host.  She also enjoyed boating, baking, cooking, watching her family fish, and being active in her community.  Arlene was very devoted to her faith, family, and friends. She played many important roles over her life including daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, friend, waitress, den mother, graduate, bookkeeper, supervisor, and care giver. 

She was pre-deceased by her husband Jim, her parents Alfred and Agnes, her sister, Betty, and her dogs Rummy and Alex.  She will be remembered by her sons Jim and John, her sister Diane (Tony) Cocilova and her brother-in-law Rudy Fleischacker, nephews and nieces Michael (Colleen) Wojcik, Michele (Mike) Fleischacker, Sean (Myla) Moses, many cousins and great nieces and nephews and many friends.

There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1124 Hudson Ave, Rochester, NY 14621 on Friday September 16, 2022 at 10 am followed by a gathering for friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Arlene’s name to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 34 St. Stanislaus Street, Rochester, NY 14621.
