Andrew Reid

Obituary of Andrew Jordan Reid

Andrew Jordan Reid, 28, of Venice, FL formerly of Clear Lake, MN passed away on February 9, 2022 after a two year battle with brain cancer.

Survivors include his parents, Steven and Deborah Reid who now reside in Venice, FL and two sisters Katie (Reid) Barthelemy and husband Mitchell and their children Olivia and Owen and younger sister Amber Reid both residing in MN. Survivors also include grandparents Roger and Sharon Reid of Yuma, AZ and Tim and Nancy Redman of Nokomis, FL and one great grandmother Velda Hall of Ione, CA as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Andrew was born October 1, 1993 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and the family moved to Minnesota in 1997. His love and involvement in sports began at the age of five and continued into his early college years. He graduated from Becker High School in Becker, MN.  He had a passion for Basketball and Football and also excelled in Track & Field. Andrew received his Associates Degree from St Cloud State University and was enrolled at Florida Atlantic University where sadly he was not able to complete his Bachelor’s Degree due to his disease. He was a Stats guy as many of his friends will attest and his dream job was to work for ESPN. He had an internship lined up with the Miami Dolphins through FAU which sadly his disease progressed so rapidly his dream was never realized.

Although Andrew was not able to work for over a year, his most recent employment was at Miller Auto for several years and a short employment at Pam’s Auto both in Minnesota.

Andrew had a love of the great outdoors and music. He had quite an extensive Bucket List and he was able to take a trip of a lifetime to Peru in November of 2021 where he spent three weeks deep within the Amazon. Andrew had a deep sense of his own spirituality and connection to nature and it was this trip where he was able to do just that. A special thank you to the Santiago Lions Club and all those who donated at his benefit to help make this dream come true.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at Bailey Rays at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Tidewell Hospice are greatly appreciated. The service they provided has been invaluable to us and our family and we couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated and caring staff.  https://tidewellfoundation.org/donate/
