Obituary of Robert C. Magnuson

Robert C. Magnuson, 83, of Venice, Florida died Saturday May 23, 2009 in Venice. Mr. Magnuson was born October 1, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Fingal and Erika (Lyrberg) Magnuson. He moved to Venice in 1990 from Chicago. He retired from AT&T in Chicago, IL in 1988 after 40 years of service. Mr. Magnuson was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Nokomis, FL; a veteran of the Army Air Force and served during World War II. . Mr. Magnuson and his wife, Marian enjoyed singing in church choirs, loved square dancing, traveling and camping and was a member of the Chicago Roadrunners Camping Club and the Telephone Pioneers. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marian Magnuson of Venice; sons, Richard of Kentwood, MI; James of Round Lake, IL ; Donald of Maui, HI; sister, Florence Schwan of Sarasota, FL; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Nokomis. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
