Obituary of Wilbur Oliver Dodd
Wilbur Oliver Dodd, 77, of Venice, FL died January 24, 2006. Born March 28, 1928 in Washington, DC and moved to Venice in 1974 from Falls Church, VA. He was a Classified Agent for the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC for 27 years, retiring in 1974. Mr. Dodd was a Veteran of the Korean War, U.S. Marines. He was recognized by President Kennedy for his service during the Cuban Missal Crisis. Author Dino Brugione also recognized Mr. Dodd in his book Eyeball to Eyeball, about the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He is survived by his wife Jean of Venice, FL; 4 children Thomas R. and Mary Glen Toundas both of Venice, Richard C. of Warrenton, VA & James A. of Tampa, FL; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
