Obituary of Peter Korolyshyn

Peter Korolyshyn, age 93, of North Port, went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2006. He was born on June 29, 1912 in the Ukraine, and came to North Port in 1981 from New Jersey. In 1944 Peter and his wife Maria left the Ukraine with little more than the shirts on their backs in hopes of finding a new life in the U.S. He was a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in North Port. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria, of North Port; son Bohdan Korolyshyn of New Port News, VA; daughter Nadia Hoots, of Virginia Beach, VA, and son Peter Korolyshyn, Jr., of North Port, FL; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 14th from 4 – 6 PM at Farley Funeral Home North Port Chapel. Funeral Mass will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 15th at 10:30 AM, and continue at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens.
