Obituary of Mildred Jurkovac

Mildred Jurkovac, age 85, of Venice, died on February 28, 2006. She was born in St. Ann Croatia on April 4, 1920, and came to Venice from Waukegan, IL in 1983. She was a homemaker and a seamstress, working for Mary’s Taylor Shop in North Chicago. Mrs. Jurkovac was a volunteer at the Venice Hospital Elephant’s Trunk and a member of the Slavic Club in Sarasota. She was also a member of the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. Surviving family members include her sons, Chester of Englewood, George, Jr. of New Port Richey, and Thomas of North Port; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visitation will be at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel on Saturday, March 4th from 10 AM – 12 Noon. A graveside funeral service will follow at 1 PM at Venice Memorial Gardens.
