Obituary of Eddie Bill Moran

Eddie Bill Moran, age 77, of Venice, FL died on March 11, 2006 at the Venice Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 2, 1928 in Washington, D.C. He moved to Venice, FL in 1991 from Chesapeake, MD. He was a construction foreman in Washington, D.C for the U.S. Government for 25 years until his retirement in 1983. He was nominated by the Washington, D.C Boxing Hall of Fame as the Most Outstanding amateur light-weight boxer for the year 1947. In 1992, he was inducted into the Washington, D.C. Boxing Hall of Fame, in Amateur Boxing Category. He was also a professional dog trainer licensed by the American Kennel Club. He as a member of the American Legion Post # 139, Elks Club # 2378, VFW Post # 8118 and the Moose Lodge # 1308. He is survived by his companion, Dorothy Brewer of Venice, FL; children, Jerry Moran of Ontario, CA; Dinah Moran of New Port Beach, CA; Carl W. Moran of Texas and Peggy Ruch of Tampa, FL; sister, Pat Ferguson of Frankenmuth, MI; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 1:00PM at the Farley Funeral Home and Crematory, Venice Chapel. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 2801 Fruitville Road, Suite 250, Sarasota, FL 34237. Farley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
