Obituary of Margot Ruth Payne

Margot Ruth Payne, the death of Margot Ruth Payne of Hampton, New Brunswick, wife of Gordon S. “Buzz” Payne occurred March 23, 2006 at Venice Regional Medical Center, Florida. She was born in Saint John, N.B. daughter of Jenet (MacIlroy) Ottem of Fredericton, N.B and the late John Ottem. Margot was a Special Education Teacher residing in Bathurst, N.B; Port Alberni, B.C.; and Fort Frances, Ontario before moving to Rothesay, N.B in 1981 to continue in her teaching field. Since 1995 she shared her time between Hampton and Warm Mineral Springs, Florida. Margot was a member of the New Brunswick Teachers’ Association; past president of the I.O.D.E.; past Rotary Ann; and a Sunday School Teacher at various locations. She is survived by her husband Buzz; mother, Jenet; two daughters Gwynneth Boye (Manfred), Hampton; Krista Blaikie (Simon), Winnipeg, Manitoba; one sister, Doreen Lewis, Fredericton; grandchildren Sarah and Kyrsti Boye, Connor and Brynne Blaikie ; one uncle, Wallace MacIlroy, Chipman; three nieces and four nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held in Hampton at a later date. The arrangements have been entrusted to Reids Funeral Home in Hampton and Farley Funeral Home in Venice, FL.
