Brigadier General Thomas M. Crawford, U.S. Army “retired”89 of Venice, FL and Verona, Italy passed away on March 12, 2007. He was born on July 7, 1917 in Salisbury, NC and was a graduate of the United States Military Academy, class of 1939. Brig. General Crawford was an army veteran of WWII and received a Silver Star and five Bronze stars during his Military Career. He also was a member of St Mark’s Episcopal Church of Venice, Venice Yacht Club, Army – Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA, Verona Country Club in Verona, Italy. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Patricia: a daughter Anne Crawford Grubb and son in law Professor James Grubb and grandson Thomas Edward Farnsworth Grubb of Ellicott City, MD. Memorial Donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church 513 Nassau Street South. Venice, FL or Senior Friendship Center of Venice 2350 Scenic Drive, Venice, FL 34293. Funeral Services will be Saturday March 17, 2007 at 10:30 am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Venice. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY. Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Friends may visit anytime online at to sign guest register book and extend condolences to the family.
